I feel that adobe has such a Monopoly over the editing of photos and videos that its almost comical how poor the preform comparatively. The website works well and and is easy to purchase, use and operate. When someone tries to compete in price, which is usually just as much, as well as tools that don't work as well. I think that maybe there should be more options or better pricing to attract an even bigger audience, as they already have the best tool.
Another thing that could help is other programs offering better tools than the ones they have available to make competition harder. I think maybe that we need to instigate more competition so they strive to create better products and updates as well as better pricing.

Adobe Rush is the smaller package Version of Premiere Pro, and is very easy to use. It start off with you selecting what elements you are using in your video. Once Selected then you arrange, trim and add as needed. You can make a clip show or compile clips together, its easy to use and has options for all transitions. You can add Text, music, sounds, and images. The base is simplistic but complex enough to provide you with what you need to create something.
Now I think adobe Rush could add the option to save manually because it auto saves sometimes you might mess up and not know how to fix it. Its frustrating how you move images and video clip lengths, so I think they could stand to make it easier to isolate them. When using the text its helpful you can have multiple boxes, but it would be better if you didn't have to keep stacking for multiple. Lastly its very simplistic they could add a few more features so it stands out from premiere pro. Adobe Animate is Very similar to after effects in its use of creating motion but with more to offer. Animate not only functions as its own animation tool but as a file creator for said animations. Adobe animates allows you to create specific movements in different set pieces, helping you keep the process compact. For example if you create a character you you can create a sub folder making all of the parts of that character a symbol so you keep the original and can move the one on the set. I'm glad you can make these sub movements for a combined movement across the set.
I find adobe animate to be in many ways the next step and what after effects was missing in its design. Adobe animate could use with less of a complicated adjustment feature, its often confusing how your supposed to use it. Thankfully it wasn't confusing enough to keep me from creating a decent animation. The settings for adjusting sizes need to be tweaked heavily even applying something from illustrator is risky as it sometimes compresses the image. After effects is a program mainly used for movement of singles and creating motion graphics. I have used it for both such objects; whereas still art has to rely on placement, motion graphics naturally attract the attention of the viewer. After effects has a slightly over complicated method of creating motion, but its easy enough once you get used to it. You create motion by using a stop watch button to mark between key frames for moving certain assets. When it comes to straight forward animation, and certain other creations make use of the frame setting tool in which you set each picture to a certain frame to create motion. After effects also makes use of the tool known as adobe media encoder to save it as animation.
I think After effects is well worth using to create simple animations if you have the patience and the software available. My only nitpicking of the program are its slightly confusing set ups. As well as the use of the stop watch tool having some functions that perhaps don't need independent movement. Lastly I believe it would be more beneficial to create a program that both makes the animation and compresses it turning it into an animation. I want to take a moment to consider the effect video games have had on children sine their conception and how it changes as we move forward, as well as video games them selves. In the past Video games were more of a treat to enjoy when you had the time, over indulgence being classified as maybe playing for a bit longer than anticipated. Video games where usually complete finished products with future expansions to the universe planned as other games, or ended conclusively. As the consumer in our easier world has gotten used to this though, we spend more and more time playing. The internet made games more easily playable as well as connecting. Now consumers are to the point where games count as entertainment for more than the player, but also viewers and streaming playing has become more popular, and this allows people to have careers based off games. Video games also heavily rely on the internet using DlC as main parts of games, and or just adding expansions to keep the game fresh.
Vector Graphics were easy upon revisiting with a better understanding of the tools provided. I find that the Tools are easy to use once you've been given an over view of the way they work. The Program is very simple only using basic shapes lines and set ups for arranging and coloring. I found that using some tools in conjunction made better art. The biggest problem i had was with the mesh tool but i found using it gave flavor and depth to otherwise flat objects. Some objects need thicker lines while others look better with out them. Most things just depend on how good it looks based off the surrounding elements, keeping of theme is the most important part.
Color, something that we see in everyday life seems to go unappreciated unless being directly used for showing something specific in a design. We use it everyday, its not just black and white, we add color to help differ items and certain emotion. We use value and hue/saturation to flesh out items too. The simple green and blue we see outside everyday even impacts us and how we see the world. Color doesn't take all of our attention away from something, it flows into the background and helps emphasize.
Color is most used for feeling, like using contrast or warm/ cool colors to create such feelings. value is the the darkness or lightness in the the color, which is used to change the light source or texture on a item. can also be used well when blended, blending it with other colors to creating certain tones. anything can be made more realistic by adding color, value, and blending. Mr. Bourgeoisie 3rd period DDA 1 In the last few days of game design, I have learned the tools and the the buttons mapped to the most used tools. I have been familiarized with the tools used in the class to make new items with quick mapping techniques. I have learned to use the magnifying glass to be more exact with my editing. We used the layering and layer mask tool to edit items without permanently damaging it. Lastly i have learned the extra uses of magic wand tool and select similar which makes it so that I can more easily edit items without having to select different parts at a time. The new techniques I have learned how to edit without destructive techniques and to better make items. In one exercise I learned how to make layer masks and the layer tools to better create convincing layered Items. The discovery of the extra use of the paintbrush tool in masking was massive and now vital in how I mask. When using mask you can also use opacity to change how much of the item seems to be gone which can help partially hide items. Photoshop has more uses for the tools I am familiar with, which made the activities we did in class fun. I was too cocky at the tools I had experience using, which yes helped me create faster but the new techniques really helped me make something better. I am thankful that I was able to improve on prior knowledge and the template with instructions helped if ever I was lost. I can now use this knowledge i have gained to make better products and help my self when editing something non destructively in my photographs. |
